The “Super AI Individual” is a concept Raymond Hou introduced in 2026 as an extension of his existing approach to independent work. It contrasts with his existing definition of the The Super Individual: A Definition for Today’s Professionals: the Super Individual describes a person’s working system—the underlying logic of working intelligently and living well— The Super AI Individual concerns the working system built for AI: an environment, rules, and delivery standards that let AI keep contributing reliably. Raymond argues that neither is sufficient alone. He compares the relationship to the two complementary forces of tai chi: learning how people work, then learning to manage AI, makes for a more complete worker in a new era.1

How the concept emerged

The distinction took shape during a members’ livestream on July 19, 2026. Raymond was preparing a large course on AI agents, later launched as AI Agent Cohort Program (Super AI Individual). His team debated its name repeatedly and ultimately chose a subtitle to express the core value; “Super AI Individual” became the term fixed during that naming process. The timing followed two lines of work: in 2025, Raymond systematized the human working system in the 55-unit The Super Individual’s Way of Working (55-Unit Online Course) course; in 2026, he applied the same logic to AI through Raymond’s AI Double. The new term connects those efforts.

A view of how knowledge work may change

The concept rests on Raymond’s forecast about the reorganization of white-collar work. He estimates that, within five years, a department once staffed by more than ten people might shrink to two or three people plus a group of AI agents. He compares this shift to textile machines replacing large amounts of human labor and sees it as an irreversible structural change rather than a passing trend. He expects purely digital work that can be fully described through text and files to be affected first, while work requiring physical presence and emotional connection—he cites kindergarten teachers as an example—will have a longer buffer. This is Raymond’s forecast, not an established outcome. It explains why he treats directing AI as a capability rather than a collection of software tricks: as more execution is delegated, human value concentrates in judgment, taste, and responsibility (see A Full Shift to AI Agent Collaboration in 2026).

Learn to write the instructions, not to build the refrigerator

Raymond does not think everyone needs to understand the underlying technology first. His analogy is a refrigerator: a buyer need not understand how refrigerant works, but should read the instructions and know to leave ten centimeters for ventilation. Likewise, an AI agent’s user needs to state the task, rules, and acceptance criteria clearly. This shifts the learning threshold from engineering ability to communication and judgment, consistent with the transferable capabilities in The Super Individual: A Definition for Today’s Professionals.

He also returns to Iron Man and Jarvis as an analogy. Rather than memorizing everything before starting, a person can call on an AI assistant while doing the work, learn along the way, and keep the final decisions. AI handles information; the person remains accountable. This reinforces his position in The Second Brain Is a Trap: From Collecting to Acting: knowledge is not valuable because it is accumulated, but because it can be called upon when needed.

From recorded lessons to a continuing cohort

The idea also changed how Raymond chose to teach. He publicly moved away from a traditional course recorded six months in advance, which students might buy and never watch, toward a monthly live cohort, AI Agent Cohort Program (Super AI Individual). In one proposed format, about forty minutes would cover his own current practice and twenty minutes would examine applications submitted by students. His reason was that AI tools change faster than a fixed recording remains current, while learning depends on whether students make something. He described more than a month of preparation and over three hundred revisions, serving three kinds of students: complete beginners, experienced users who feel confused, and those with insights who want to improve their practice.2

The course overview and interactive site presents six modules and interactive experiences for readers who want to learn more. This principle that content should keep pace with reality also connects with the post-launch add-on lessons in The Super Individual’s Way of Working (55-Unit Online Course).

Place in Raymond’s wider approach

The Super AI Individual is not a replacement concept but an extension of the existing framework. Raymond summarizes the relationship as handing work off while keeping life for oneself. The human working system asks what is worth doing and how to live well. The AI working system asks how to hand off work that need not be done personally, while retaining confidence in the result. Together, they form the complete position he wants to advance in The Super Individual and AI Agent Era (2024–2026).
