The core of business thinking for a company of one: the market determines your value, and the path from people discovering you to paying you can be designed.
My Interpretation (Wisdom)
A company of one does not need MBA-level business thinking, but it does need to understand two things. First, market demand determines your value, not your effort. Customers do not care how many hours you spent or what software you bought; they care whether you can “save time, increase revenue, or give them peace of mind.” Second, there is a path that can be designed for users to go from discovering you to paying you. It is not a matter of waiting for people to show up by chance.
Many people price by adding costs and profit. Real pricing should start with “what result does the customer need?” Selling a single skill as a cost has a low ceiling; selling a result has no ceiling.
Strategy and Methods (Knowledge)
Demand Determines Value
Price according to the problem solved and the result created, not the time cost. Understand the customer’s real needs and offer a complete solution. Modularize services like Subway ingredients, designing options and upgrades as packaged specifications. This makes pricing clearer and allows it to be higher.
The AARRR User Funnel
Acquisition → Activation → Retention → Revenue → Referral. Build trust and value layer by layer, from free content to core products. Avoid becoming obsessed with one-time exposure; focus on serving specific users deeply. Revenue can be divided into active services and passive income. Through a carefully designed product mix and marketing path, a business can create freedom over time and leverage value.
